What We Believe

Our Mission
'To know Christ and make Him known.'

A vibrant, Bible-based church connecting with Wollondilly Anglican College and
the local community to grow mature, mission-minded followers of Jesus.
Learning   -   Loving   -   Living
“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Christ, and through him to reconcile to himself all things by making peace through his blood shed on the cross.” (Colossians 1:19-20)
Goals & Values
Our values as a fellowship of believers are best expressed by the 3 L's:
Learning   -   Loving   -   Living.

We are a group of ordinary people, all on a journey of discovery, continually finding out more about God, what he has done for us through his Son Jesus Christ and considering the big questions of life.  We do this in many ways, with our 9am Sunday service each week being the time we all come together and learn from God’s word, the Bible, in a relaxed and relevant way. You might also consider talking to someone or joining one of our small Growth Groups to help you explore and grow in your understanding of the Christian faith.

We seek to obey the Great Commandment Jesus taught, which says: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” and, “love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39) The greatest desire of our life is to love God: worshipping trusting and obeying him. We seek to practically love each other in our church but also in the wider community.

Our understanding of God and a desire to love him and others, compels us to live out our faith in everyday life, not just on Sundays. We serve through our experience and opportunities, gifts and abilities to make a difference in our world. Through our words and actions we will witness to Christ and his impact on our own life, trusting that He will draw others to saving faith in Christ and life with an eternal purpose.

What is important to us at WACC?

Families are important to us, so we make sure we have something for all ages. As well as our Kids’ Church program, we have a family service once a month and on special days, like Mothers’ Day, where we try to involve everyone. At Kid’s Church
we aim to have the children actively developing their faith together at all times.

Relationships are important to us, so we take time to get to know each other better each time we meet. We generally have a time of welcome at the start of each service where we share where we’re at. We also have a regular
“testimony time” where people volunteer to share their faith journey with the church. Morning tea after the
service is also an important time for us to catch up together.

Active participation is important to us. We want everyone to be involved in a way they feel comfortable with
and really enjoy, whether in planning social activities, Kids’ Church, leading worship, doing morning tea, setting
up or anything else. Lay leadership is a hallmark for how we function at WACC, as our minister is
shared across 4 congregations.

Sharing our faith with others is important, so we look for opportunities to make connections with the
WAC community and with others in the Wollondilly area. We run Alpha courses, specifically designed
for people who are questioning what they believe and wanting to find out more about Christianity in
a no-pressure environment.

Connect Groups/workshops are important to us because we believe they give us
a chance to get to know each other at a deeper level than we can on a Sunday. They also give
us a chance to grow in faith together. We encourage everyone to join a connect group,
and try to make it as convenient as possible for those with families.

Overseas and local missions are important to us. We regularly raise
money for individuals involved in humanitarian relief and evangelistic missions
in Australia and overseas.
